Though he resurrects upon death, his killer casts him down from his frontier town and into the Abyss. In an unfamiliar place of darkness and wonder, Shiv finds himself freed from his previous limits, capable of charting his own destiny, but only if he can overcome countless dangers and lethal adversaries. But that's ultimately a good thing for Shiv, because where most find the end of their stories in death, he will discover only power.
